Went on another walk to the store today and I wanted to take some pics of how the Fall foliage has been doing. I also was trying to play with a setting or 2 on the camera that gave me less than stellar results because of the contrast of the morning light. It was a lesson learned and I don’t think I’ll be using that setting much any more because the picture looks a little dark. It’s obvious which ones I had played with by adjusting the shutter for trying a longer exposure because the images came out a little blurred. It doesn’t make for good pics in the early morning.

Shootin’ for the stars
October 30, 2007I’m really tickled about this. I was able to pull out these nice star shots from my little $149 Canon. The longer that I have it and the more that I learn to do the more that I seem to find things that amaze me. The range of colors in the stars is remarkable and something that’s not readily available to the human eye especially when there is any light pollution. I wouldn’t have expected to be able to take these shots unless I had hooked the camera up to a telescope. It really makes me want to get one now.
To really appreciate how cool this is you need to click on the pic and see a full view.

Time to get a pumpkin
October 30, 2007Time for a pumpkin… I know for most of you out there this is a little late but better late than never. We went to a little house not far from where we live and let our son pick out a pumpkin and 3 gourds. He enjoyed it for what it’s worth and we are going to let him paint it tomorrow to give him something to do until it’s time to get dressed up and get some candy.

Pictures I don’t care for but can’t seem to part with.
October 30, 2007This set is of some photos that I had lying on my memory card and couldn’t seem to just throw in the recycle bin for one reason or the other. Either they had some of me, that I could really do without having, or there were pictures take by my son, or both. Either way I couldn’t think of a more humiliating way to take care of these then post them on the net.
Enjoy!

The leaves are changin’
October 21, 2007I know this is some of my best work and I can be faulted for trying something different with my camera and that was trying to take pics of some changing leaves with out really playing with the settings on my camera. It left me with a bit of work to do in Photoshop to get the contrast and levels right on some of them, though that wasn’t a big deal since I wanted to do some cropping anyhow. By the time I really get out and try to take some good pics this season I should have things just right hopefully.
The leaves are starting to change fast and I am getting excited about having the chance to experience this with my little Canon.

Just some shots of Shoes
October 16, 2007I went a little manic today and decided to take a break and snap a few shots while trying to wind down. Not much really to say about it all… Some pics of a couple of my cats, a couple of a candle and my son. Ho hum… I do like one of the pics of the candle though and I may make that part of my new banner for the site.
